That’s very strange. Yesterday I baked banana chocolate chip muffins and accidentaly-on-purpose left out the egg. They actually taste better without eggs, surprisingly. Piggy, could I have a refill on the cider please? Thank you “barkeeper.”

I went clothes shopping today, just about all by myself (because my dad trailing about three feet behind me wasn’t much help in picking out clothes) and got some really cool stuff. I’ve got one really Halloweeny outfit now! I’ve got some black yoga pants, an orange tshirt, and a black jacket that my mum gave to me. Pwnsome. I can’t wait to wear it.

I just HAD to pop in, old possets. I’m up to my eyes with concertina practice and robot lion software, but there ought to be time for MuseBlog in one’s life. So, a flying visit, then.
I see the place has changed very little since the last time I popped in, which is just what I like to see. A haven of calm and stability in a tumultuous world. And when the haven comes with tea and comestibles, it acquires the ethos of a Nirvana or Shangri-la.
To which end, a pot of Jasmine, please, and a chorley cake. If they’re not all in use on the Paker table.

It’s been pretty much empty since the place was established, and I’ve never thought that a copper vase full of cut flowers, however delightful, was quite adequate. Since it occupies only the lower third of the niche, I’ve created a banner to hang above it, depicting – what else? Artemis herself, complete with bizarre headgear. I do hope you all enjoy it.

I’m not trick or treating, partly because I’m still recovering from a cold, partly because I’m not much for trick or treating. But my school does let you dress up and stuff the day before and we have Halloween dances and parties that day also so I’m dressing up as a cowgirl for school. An easy costume that I could find entirely at home – all I needed was a plaid shirt, jeans, a big belt, cowboy hat/bandanna, and cowboy boots.
Piggy, do you have anything that soothes a sore throat? Mine is killing me.

Nutella is a choclate/hazelnut spread that is excellent off the spoon or on things like toast, waffles, baguettes (better on batards, but whatever) and so forth. I think Piggy may have described it as heaven on earth. Anyway, enjoy!

LBK, heres a really brief summmary:
Oklahoma is basically about people in Oklahoma. As you probably guessed. Laurey is a sweet kind of girl, and her friend Curly likes her, and askes her to the “Box Social” (a dance). She doesn’t want to go with him and to spite him she decides to go with Jud, a dark mysterious guy who works on Laurey’s aunt’s farm. (Aunt Eller). Meanwhile, the cowboy Will Parker comes back from….uhh….Kansas? with gifts for Ado Annie, a flirt and a ditz. But Ado Annie has been hanging around a Persian peddler, Ali Hakim. Annie tells Laurey that she loves both Will and Ali. And then Laurey realizes that she likes Curly, but Jud is there to pick her up to the dance. Curly goes to the dance with Gertie, this girl with a really annoying laugh. At the dance, WIll and Annie work out their differences and decde to get married. Jud then tells Laurey about his feelings for her, and she tells him that she doesnt like him. He threatens her, so she fires him. Then Curly asks Laurey to marry him, and she says yes. After their wedding, Jud comes and drunkenly tries to kill Curly. But Curly dodges the knife, and Jud falls on the knife and dies.

Re: Respectability
I remember the first days of the H&H, when no one really knew what it was yet. They did not know, and yet they behaved properly and speaking in old, flowery english. Nowadays, people rush in, ask what “this place” is, and when they are told, they treat it as a gas station cafe. Piggy may be a barkeep, but this is not a bar. Please behave yourselves. This is one of my favorite places on the blog, and I do not want it to disappear.
