Yay! My first chess game on the blog!
Errata-I’m going camping this weekend, so I won’t be able to move till sunday. I’ll still move today though, eventually
Errata? It’s your move
*sighs*
Errata: Still your move.
I am very confused
Just this morning, I was on the blog, and everything was working fine. Now, I can only see the very tops of all the avatars, and the chess board is hopelessly messed up, all squished and stuff. Everything works from my laptop though, which is what I’m using now.
Never mind. Apparently I had my computer in “compatibility view” for use in older browsers, which messed up the board.
oops! Mistyped my email address.
Sorry, I was ignoring MB for a few days for no particular reason. I’m back now! I’ll try to do better in the future…
Errata… Your move again…
Can you play, Errata? Please?
It’s your move, Koko’s Apprentice(s).
Just one of us playing this one now, Robert.
Errata’s move. *nudge*
*pokes game with stick*
I stopped checking after a while because nothing ever happened. I’ve been checking more often lately, though.
Errata has now had more than two weeks to ponder her 12th move. Bad manners, Errata.
KA made his 11th move on April 4.
Sorry, I didn’t noticed he’d moved.
Right, I moved again. Sorry.
Errata?
…Sorry.
That word will cease to look like a word if I use it too many more times.
Errata: Would it pique your interest in the game to know that you have a very good move right now?
I’m bad at remembering these things.
I’ve got a couple of new ways to try to remember, so hopefully one or the other will work.
Also, thanks for pointing that out, Robert. I don’t know if this is the one you were looking at, but I do know I wouldn’t have seen it if I hadn’t been looking.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure that’s the one he was talking about. Right after he posted that I looked and saw it after about 2 minutes.
This is my brother’s game though, so I’m not going to move for him. He’ll be here in about a half hour.
I like the new “Chess games in progress” bar. It’s nice.
Thanks! I figured it would help people to remember their games. Ideally, it would also indicate whose turn it is to move, but we’ll settle for what’s possible.
Maybe we should do something similar for RRRs…
I like it, too! I wasn’t looking forward for having to search for it manually once it left the main page, as it was bound to do before we finished it.
Good game! *Shakes hand*
Rats. There goes my undefeated streak. I surrendered because short of miraculously getting a pawn promoted, I had no powerful pieces left except a doomed bishop.
I was doing so well near the beginning, but then I started getting careless and making some stupid mistakes. That on top of some excellent forks by Errata lost me many of my good pieces and got my king into a position where it could be easily checked and eventually mated.
I asumed KA was trying to throw away all his pawns and get a stalemate. Congratulations, Errata!
(Note, however, that Errata had a forced mate in two much earlier in the game: 19. Qd6+ Ke1 [forced], 20. Nf6 checkmate. No point in leaving things to chance.)
Old ratings: 210, 100. New ratings: 120, 190.
Cool, thanks!
I probably won mostly through luck. The first part I wasn’t being careful and I had no plan, and then I was being careful but still mostly just jumping around capturing everything I could on the theory that eventually, I’d get all your significant peices and wouldn’t have too much trouble with checkmating you.
Anyway, thanks for playing! *shakes hand back*
